Basic Wardrobe Outfitting 101 - Jeans and T-Shirt? Accessorize It!
Accessories add life!
A simple example would be a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, by itself, its boring! Adding a skinny suspender or a four point scarf, you have taken the outfit to a whole other level! In just doing that you have gone from plain Jane/John to trendy! It doesn't take much at all! But, if you are daring and out there, why not add a skinny tie or a sleek bow tie! Now that jean and t-shirt just went punk rock! But what if you want to go for more of the preppy look? That's easy too, just add a cardigan sweater with or without a monogram or do a long scarf, thats prep! Out of a simple pair of jeans and t-shirt, three completely different looks were created and thats just a few!
Lets just examine the jean and t-shirt look by itself. This look alone has the possibility to take on many looks. Check this out! If you take a pair of skinny jeans and your little brother's (fitted) t-shirt, you have now created a punk/alternative look. How about a distressed pair of jean with more of a boot cut and a vintage style t-shirt, yes, you have accomplished the look of a hippee; a bohemian look! Another look with a pair of jeans and t-shirt could be more of a loose baggy fit jean and an easy fit t-shirt, you now have an urban look. Yet another would be a slim straight jean creased and a pressed tailored fit t-shirt, which gives a dressed up night on the town look! The list goes on and on!
When putting together an outfit, if you've worn it before, think what can I do different this time? Simple things from adding a properly fitting blazer to a cardigan, from scarves, such as bandanas, large four point scarves, and long scarves to necklaces, such as pendants, chains, and rosery bead crosses. From belts to skinny suspenders (you can do a belt and suspender together, but allow jeans to rest below the waist) and skinny ties to bow ties, even a pocket square, are all ways of adding an accessory to create a totally different look with the same pair of jean and t-shirt and I'm sure by now you get the point! There are endless possibilities!
As you have seen in this blog, you are able to create many looks with a pair of jeans and a t-shirt! Next time we will explore more areas and features of accessorising an outfit, whether it be casual, business or dress up, there is no end when it comes to accessorising it! Accessorize up or down, its all about what you are willing to do!

I agree! Accessories can bring attention to an outfit that is otherwise fairly simple.
